All we want for Christmas is a festive front door.
Brian Woodcock
If our grannies taught us anything, it's that first impressions matter. Whether it's the way you introduce yourself or how clean your house is for guests, first impressions tend to stick around. So, after you've trimmed your Christmas tree, baked all your favorite holiday cookie recipes, and decorated your Christmas table, put your best foot forward and greet your Christmas party guests with a hearty dose of cheer as soon as they step onto your porch. While the exterior of your home can—and should—be swathed in all sorts of lights and greenery, nothing compares to an expertly appointed front door.
We've compiled a list of our favorite Christmas door decorations to give you all sorts of inspiration for your holiday door décor. Think out of the box with these fun, easy-to-do DIY ideas that go beyond your typical holiday wreaths and greenery. Try pulling in some of your holiday favorites like ornaments, mason jars, jingle bells, and ice skates to create a unique and stylish display. Soon enough your home will have the holliest and jolliest Christmas curb appeal on the block, and you'll have nothing left to do except sip on your favorite Christmas cocktail and smile. Peppermint Wreath
How fun is this? Forego the traditional evergreen wreath this year and opt instead for this two-toned beauty.
Make the Wreath: Spray-paint various sizes of flat wood rounds, wooden balls, and a wooden floral craft ring with white spray paint. Paint peppermint stripes on rounds and balls with red craft paint. Once dry, spray with Super 77 spray adhesive and sprinkle with diamond dust glitter. Wrap a long length of striped wired ribbon around the ring (for hanging), and then attach glittered rounds and balls with hot glue. (Intersperse a few small solid-colored balls if desired.) Tie a bow with the same striped ribbon and attach with hot-glue.
